Keflavik N.A.S.

This week I stumbled on an old WordPress blog post about a U.S. Navy base in Keflavik, Iceland that had served also as a N.A.T.O. post from 1941 until 2006. During my last visit to Iceland in 2011, I drove around and took some snapshots from spots I remembered from the 1970s when my father was stationed as a meteorologist at the base airport and we lived in Keflavik for nearly three years. I wanted to make some of those photos available in case others with memories of their stay were curious to see how it looked after the Navy left. Below is a gallery for those interested. More history of the base is at this Wikipedia link.
